Yes! Our trips can include some adventure activities and we want to make sure you’re protected. Transversal Travel requires all travelers to have travel insurance with medical coverage for all the days and in every area we are visiting. This should not cost more than $100 and should also cover loss of baggage, flight delays, force majoure events, etc. Please note that some insurance companies cover more than others and they have different rates. Our travelers are required to send us proof of travel insurance 4 weeks prior to the trip’s departure date as well as a photocopy of it on the day of arrival.
This depends on each trip and where you’re from in the world. If you are in doubt, we recommend speaking to your doctor.
Sure! Many of our travelers and particularly women came to our journeys on their own. You may even make a lifelong tribe of like-minded sisters and brothers that share with you the same interests.
The one thing you cannot forget is your passport with at least six months of validity after finishing the trip. You should also bring a copy of your passport and your travel insurance details. Everything else depends on each destination’s weather, geography and currency. We mainly recommend you to bring: comfortable, practical and functional clothing including some comfy shoes that can be used for trekking, waterproof jacket and warm clothes for the night; a Yoga mat, reusable water bottle, sunscreen, repellent, personal medication if needed, sun glasses, hat and toiletries.
This depends on each destination. Even the majority of your costs are included in our journeys, we recommend you a daily allowance of $30 per person in Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador and $50 per person in Argentina, Brasil, Chile and Costa Rica. These amounts are referential and may vary according to your consumption preferences as well as the optional excursions you might want to do.
We are moved by the idea of a fair-trade tourism, so we work with unique 3 and 4 star accommodations that are mainly locally-owned, family runned and well located. Breakfasts (or a box lunches) are always included and Wi-Fi is usually available in common areas.
As each hotel, ecolodge or shelter has its own distribution, room capacity may vary from one to another. Normally bungalows allows up to 8 people, triple rooms has three beds, twin rooms has two beds and double occupancy has either one queen or king bed per room.
If you are traveling alone, you will be paired with another traveler in our group of the same gender or you can upgrade to a single supplement with an additional payment. If you are traveling with a friend or partner, we will pair you in the same room, just let us know your occupancy preferences as soon as you book your trip.
Yes! Even we respect all food decisions, we encourage our passengers to take this time to reset their bodies through food and nature: all our included meals are plant based and our itineraries do not include activities that can potentially be harmful for animals.
We will do our best to provide you food according to your needs. If you have any allergies please inform us as soon as you book your trip.

They say the only constant thing in life is change, so we encourage you to be flexible. Even we offer fixed programmes, circumstances as weather, strikes, local holidays or political situations that are beyond our control can bring understandably delays or modifications into your itinerary with a little or no notice. Our advice? Roll with it and we will do our best to keep the itinerary as close as the original.
First thing: don’t panic! We highly recommend you to book your journey with us first and then book your flight. It might be easier to get any refund from your airline with a solid proof of a programmed tour.
If something goes wrong with your flight and so you’re delayed or anything else, let us know and we will always make sure that you’re well looked after.
Each trip involves different levels of physical demand. Some of them are made for relaxation and recovery so they require very little to no fitness, and some of them are adventure and nature oriented so they require a higher level.

Mother earth is our main guest in all our journeys. We believe that the world needs more local initiatives with the highest social impact and the lowest environmental impact possible. In this way, our journeys aim to turn tourism from a destructive force to a powerful positive one where nature matters, where money stays in each destination and the culture of local communities are celebrated and involved.
Some of the concrete actions we take towards ecology and sustainability:
-Every included meal is plant based and mostly locally grown.
-We hire local guides and make sure they earn what their work, experience and knowledge is well recognized.
-We travel with a water filter and encourage you to bring your own reusable water bottle.
-We donate a percentage of our income to a conservation and reforestation project in the Amazon rainforest.
-We choose to work with a net of ecolodges, homestays and hotels that are actively committed to create less waste.
-We choose to work and recommend other entrepreneurs and local businesses as our suppliers.
We are constantly looking for new and original ways to improve our eco standards for the whole traveling experience. If you ever feel something about our approach can change for better, please don’t hold back on giving us feedback.
